Bruce Weber’s Most Rustic Chic Photograph

Everyone knows photographer Bruce Weber’s work (  Best known for shooting beautiful people in various stages of dress (or undress), Weber entered iconic status long ago.  However, in looking though his tome “Blood, Sweat and Tears – Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love Fashion”, I came across his 1995 photo of Deborah Viven Cavendish, Dowager Duchess of Devonshire.

It’s an ironic and light-hearted dichotomy – landed gentry doing the chores.  The image sums up what this blog is without a word.  But if you need a little verbiage about what Rustic Chic is all about, here it is:  ballgown, evening coat, serious jewelry, bucket of corn, chicken coop (French doors – nice touch, Deb!), hens, opera tickets.
