The stone and wood barns which I photographed and posted here last week were amazing in their construction, especially the stone work. When taken out of context and examined closely, it’s astounding how very much like modern art the work appears. Soften by decades of lashing weather and encroaching lichen, as well as just plain dirt, the stone facades have been imbued with a timeworn softness that is most Rustic Chic. It’s now time to play one of my favorite games which I call “What Color is That?” See how many esoteric names you can find.
