The Ongoing Quest for “Ruined Finery”

Few things in life stir me to the core as much as that which has been forgotten, abandoned, cast aside.  And I am always on the lookout for abandoned farms and interesting structures and imagining what they once were and how they could be restored to their former glory.  This past weekend I came across a treasure trove of these long-forgotten barns and thought about what a shame it was to leave behind such marvels of construction.  But then my heart lept a bit when I imagined what they could be again!  That’s why I call these types of discoveries “Ruined Finery.”
