A Root Awakening

Nature doesn’t take a holiday and as I was driving the roads yesterday I came across this remnant of an ancient tree that had been cut down long ago.  The variety of mosses, ferns and other plants that were sprouting from the tree’s remains reminded me just how much nature abhors a vacuum.  It was a Rustic Chic example of the beauty and textures that we can find outdoors if we just take a second to observe.
