Rustic Chic Boxwood Standards

Someone famously said that your house is like a big candy box and everything that lives outside it is looking for a way to eat it.  Truer words were never spoken.  The list of flowers and shrubs that the deer will eat is a mile long and who has the time to chase away all the fauna that view your plantings as a 24-hour smorgasbord?  So with that in mind we just keep a few tidy boxwoods  around the barn.  We  prefer a bit of dressiness to them so we like the two-ball standards and we keep them in large stainless steel grape hods flanking the X-doors.  A few snips per season and a diluted fertilizer keep them tailored, green and Rustic Chic throughout the year.
