The Rustic Chic Orangerie

Among my favorite things which I deem Rustic Chic are garden rooms.  This orangerie by the British firm Marston & Langinger (www.marston-and-langinger.com) is designed in the classic style with a formal vibe.  The origin of the orangerie can be traced back to the 17th century where they were built especially for tending orange trees during harsh English winters and for entertaining during the summer.  The gracious double doors and glass ceiling with ventilated roofline of the orangerie shown here were designed to regulate air flow and temperatures to ensure the lives of the trees – so graciously rustic chic.
