The Rustic Chic Blanket Stitch

Sometimes it’s the simplest detail which can catapult an object into the realm of Rustic Chic and one of the best examples is the humble blanket stitch.  The blanket stitch is used to reinforce the edge of thick material as seen in these images.   The stitch is visible from both sides of the finished product and, when the overcast is done in a contrasting yarn color as shown in the photograph of one of my wool horse blankets above, the effect is most rustic chic.
