Look Up!

A grey day but lo!  A tree is ablaze dressed in all its variations of red and orange on this fall day.  This showy specimen was so intense it just wouldn’t or couldn’t be ignored.

Corny

Fall, to my eye at least, presents us with the most nuanced color schemes of the year.  And perhaps Indian Corn, more than any other seasonal offering, is unmatched in showing how nature melds colors together in unexpected and beautiful harmonies.

So Close . . .

A young deer takes a respite in the courtyard area between my barns.  I was inside and saw this guy relaxing.  It was such a peaceful scene I had to grab the camera.

Impromptu (“Always”)

I don’t generally like to mix flower types but this morning I made an exception.  A brief pit stop by the farmer’s market to check out what was fresh from the field led me to buckets of freshly cut stems.  I was possessed by the need to compose impromptu so I went a bit mad for a moment.  At least you will have these always.

A Better View of Forever?

A bright orange hot air balloon floated at the edge of an early blue-eyed sky this morning.  Quiet, peaceful, contemplating his view of forever.

“Libraries are chic.”

So says Birch Cooper, proprietor of Birch Books in Manhattan. And, of course, I couldn’t agree more.  Birch specializes in a large array of vintage books dealing with art, design and photography so be sure you get to his shop when you are in New York and take a look at his Web site as well (www.birchbooks.com).  Also be sure to check out www.birchbooksconservation.org to find out more about Birch’s latest venture.
